Owner Veterinarian Dana R. Griffith, DVM Dr. Griffith earned her bachelor's degree in biology with High Distinction from the University of Virginia in 1997. She graduated at the head of her class from North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. As a veterinary student, Dr. Griffith was presented with the NCVMA Academic Achievement Award and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi and the Society of Phi Zeta, the veterinary national honor society. She practiced as an associate veterinarian in Cary and Chapel Hill before realizing her dream of founding Carpenter Animal Hospital. Her clinical interests include dentistry, surgery, radiology and internal medicine. Dr. Griffith is a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Griffith resides in Apex with her husband Brian and two Labradors Monroe and Reuben. Her tabby cat, Emmett resides at Carpenter Animal Hospital. When she has time, Dr. Griffith loves to travel. Her favorite trips were to Italy, Thailand, and Alaska, and she has much more to see! Some of her other interests are hiking, swimming, gardening, and shopping.
Associate Veterinarian Jenny Nichols, DVM Dr. Jenny Nichols is a North Carolina native from Thomasville, home of the “big chair.” She received both her bachelor’s and DVM degrees from North Carolina State University. After graduation, she worked at a small animal hospital in Durham before joining the Carpenter Animal Hospital team in December 2007. Her favorite areas of practice include ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, and general medicine. She also has a special interest in shelter/rescue animals. Dr. Nichols and her husband, Jason, are big Wolfpack and Hurricanes fans. They live in Durham with their daughters Natalie and Sabrina, their mischievous tabby cat, Elvis, and their wonderful hound mix, Penny. In her spare time, she also enjoys painting, drawing, and traveling. |
